@kimberlily1983 …
@kimberlily1983 several friends of mine are dietitians including 2 of them with PhD in the subject and one works as a consultant to the NHS. By the way stop insulting me i’m a scientist and i rely on facts not on “word of mouth”. As for quacks you are talking about, the only one i’ve spoken about this is you. You clearly have selective not objective views, that’s fine, just don’t promote this rubbish among young people, you don’t have qualifications for that.
@ahamayoisac Thanks …
@ahamayoisac Thanks, but I’m interested in what the experts have to say, and the experts are clear on this, for anyone looking at their position papers: vegan diets offer the most health benefits and provide for all nutritional needs, for anyone.
I’d be interested in hearing where you get your information (such as that 2 oz. of meat is necessary for pregnant women). Do you just make this stuff up as you go along, or have you fallen under the spell of some quack(s), and if so, which one(s)?
Oh my GOD the …
Oh my GOD the commercial I watched before the video started was for PERDUE chicken
@kimberlily1983 …
@kimberlily1983 here, read this, educate yourself. This person used to promote vegan diet now read what he says. chetday.com/vegandietdangers.htm
@kimberlily1983 And …
@kimberlily1983 And don’t call me ignorant, you have no idea of my education, level of interest in various subjects and my knowledge. Your information is selective, you only chose what supports your believes in the first place, objectivity is the way forward, it is the scientific way.
@TranshumanCyborg …
@TranshumanCyborg Also All of the experts suggest that vegan diet for adults can be beneficial in controlling cholesterol etc but they must substitute it with vitamin B12 enriched foods and take other supplements for mineral and vitamin intake. As for pregnant women, children and teenagers and nursing mothers it is absolutely clear that at least 2 oz of meat per week is a must. I am almost sure that your mother ate meat when she was pregnant with you.
@TranshumanCyborg …
@TranshumanCyborg In addition, cows are not the only animals that provide dairy. Goats, horses, donkeys and sheep are fine too. As for the mineral water, i’m just in tears from laughing. Don’t tell anybody you said that. To consume minerals is not enough your body needs to absorb it too plus your diet suggestion is really only real for people with quite a bit of money. Most people don’t drink mineral water as a rule. Also, most minerals are actually found in plant life not water.
@kimberlily1983 …
@kimberlily1983 This is not about how animals are treated, there are alternatives like organic produce etc, this is about crap people like you come up with to suggest we can get all we need from vegan diet. I personally only buy meat from farm i know and if all of us did the same we will stop the cruelty but thats not what you are saying is it?
@TranshumanCyborg I …
@TranshumanCyborg I agree about the milk, the only point to have it in your diet if you are not eating MEAT. Milk is not about calcium, its about getting the long chain fat acids that are needed to absorb minerals and vitamins. Most people don’t tolerate wheat either. The point is MEAT is essential, if not animal meat then at least fish and maybe chicken. Eggs in large quantities also no good, too much pure protein and different type of fat from the dairy.
@ahamayoisac The …
@ahamayoisac The problem with a lot of industrial produced milk is the hormones that contaminate it, which are injected into cows to get them to lactate without being pregnant. Milk really isn’t as essential to diet as one might think. First, a huge chunk of the human population is intolerant to it. Second, there’s actually more calcium concentrated in collard greens than in milk. People who live by mineral rich water sources can actually fulfil their daily calcium needs from that as well.
Great
Great
@ahamayoisac You’re …
@ahamayoisac You’re ignorant. Nothing more to it than that.
Try researching a bit. Read the ADA and Dietitians of Canada’s position paper on vegetarian diets (covers vegan diets as well).
Egg hens and dairy cows are treated horribly, and are murdered when no longer useful to the farmers. Research the facts on farming while you’re at your diet research.
@ahamayoisac Any …
@ahamayoisac Any data that you could be speaking of would pertain to people who are malnourished. It’s true that some of the world’s malnourished are vegan, simply because they don’t have access to animal products, rather than as a result of deliberate choice. The health problems these people suffer from are from not having access to enough food, and enough variety of foods, not from being vegan.
@kimberlily1983 …
@kimberlily1983 people like you should just shut up, you are telling a 13 year old who needs to develop how to slowly cause him or her, especially her, low fertility, badly functioning thyroid gland, bad cell construction, bowl production. If you decided at your mature age to go against nature, fine, don’t kill kids. Milk and eggs is not a murder, who dies? Eggs you eat is just the chicken’s period, milk, cow produces to feed a calf all ppl do is milk it after. Nothing bloody horrid about it.
@skaterskill123 …
)
@skaterskill123 Don’t think that the only thing you need is protein you need other things in your diet but basically if you are a vegetarian and eat dairy and eggs you should get enough of animal source products as long as the rest of your diet is well balanced, i.e. starches, minerals, fiber and vitamins. Those are the things to remember apart from protein and fats. Exercise is a good idea to keep your weight down and be fit.
@kimberlily1983 you …
@kimberlily1983 you could just keep your own chickens for eggs and maybe a cow and treat it really nice. Animal protection is a good thing but please don’t try to tell the rest of us that we are meant to be vegan. Also, remember that if you ever want to have children and they don’t get cholesterol they will not develop properly. The UNISEF data shows that children in southeast asia and africa that mostly survive on vegan diet lack vitamin A, highest % of infant mortality and blindness.
@kimberlily1983 …
@kimberlily1983 That is actually been a theological and philosophical question for centuries. We have, it seems, some unexplained, beyond biological purpose. We are the only creatures that create music, for example, art, put ourselves at risk for no reason. Destroy each other for no reason. Knowing the answer to your question would not be an indication of me being smart, i am smart, don’t need you to validate it, it would be basically having the ultimate answer. God like.

@kimberlily1983 …
@kimberlily1983 Thats what I’m saying but your description is better
@Stonewalljackson7 …
@Stonewalljackson7 I think a better description would be that typical Westerners suffer not from lack of adequate amounts of food, but from eating too much food, as well as not eating the right kinds of foods, which leads to too much of certain macro nutrients (protein, for instance) and not enough of other nutrients like calcium (excess protein, salt in animal products cause bones to leach calcium), vitamin E, folate, fiber, folate, magnesium…
@ahamayoisac If you …
@ahamayoisac If you are so clever, why don’t you tell everyone where this “purpose” you speak of comes from? What’s the “purpose” of humans, according to you? I do not subscribe to the view that we’ve been put here on Earth by anyone, or that there is any purpose to us being here.
@ahamayoisac You …
@ahamayoisac You didn’t actually claim this, but you implied that vegan diets are lacking in fat. I’m a vegan diet and I eat nuts, avocados, etc. – my diet is anything but low-fat. Vegans have no trouble meeting and exceeding the recommendations for nutrient and vitamin levels and the fat needed for absorption.
@goodtimes616 …
@goodtimes616 Animal product consumption is ancient but not the kind of animals eaten today. Ancient hunters ate wild game, now people eat cattle and hogs and chickens that are fed grain, antibiotics and hormones. Most poor,urban people in ancient times ate little meat because they had nowhere to hunt and little money to buy it. In any event meat should be eaten sparingly if at all.
@Stonewalljackson7 …
@Stonewalljackson7 well yeah but for most of them it’s their own fault for being obese, they are not forced fed ice cream, KFC,McDs, Twinkies, chips while watching tv as a sport. This obesity issue is recent but animal product consumption is ancient. We weren’t covering chicken with batter and drowning it in sugar crap bbq sauce then though. But that’s a whole other story…
@goodtimes616 thats …
@goodtimes616 thats one of the problems with meat and animal products its too concentrated, American aren’t suffering from undernutrition its OVERnutrition thats the problem.
